Summer Learning

Shift in summer program offerings

This summer, Tacoma Public Schools will not offer its own in-person, summer programs for elementary and middle school students. Instead, students can take advantage of a variety of opportunities across Tacoma - everything from free, online learning opportunities to paid in-person programs and others.

Jump Start for 6th Grade and 9th Grade

Jump Start helps incoming students feel confident and ready for success in school.  In August, Jump Start programs will be offered for students entering 6th and 9th grade only. There is no kindergarten Jump Start this summer. Learn more about each program below.
