“We would like to invite the community and the families of Giaudrone Middle School to our Showcase Night on Thursday, Feb. 18,” Principal Michael Robinson said. The showcase will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the school located at 4902 South Alaska St.
On Feb. 18, Giaudrone students will be given an opportunity to showcase their work. Several students will present their literary pieces. Other students will display completed projects in various classes including science projects. In addition to other showcased work, some students will present their science fair projects to the community during this event.
“We are also proud to let you know that this year Giaudrone Middle School received a Math and Arts Impact Grant,” said Robinson. Through this grant, students have explored the connection between math and art. Sixth-grade math students will display their "anibot" sculptures at the showcase. Halyna Kelley’s classes will also display colorful and visually interesting handmade kites which students created by applying math and art knowledge learned though participation in integrated math and art lessons.
